Thing 23:Next steps

As I said at the beginning of the 23 things digital badges I am a finisher

When I began these 23 things digital badges I said I was going to finish them and today is that day. Yippee, I feel accomplished.I began this journey in October so it has taken me 7 months to complete them but its not about how long it took it is about what I have learned.
Looking back at my self assessment in Thing 3 I scored myself-Capability 3,Confidence 3 and Relevance 3.So I felt I was really average and had a long way to go for improvement .

Today I reflected on how far I had come and what skills I have gained. I now feel I score this:


I scored myself 13.That is an increase of 4 marks. All areas have improved especially my capability,I would not have been able to do the Eco schools collation of resources if I hadn't done these badges and increased my digital learning.I have enjoyed doing the badges through E-learning and nobody put pressure on me to complete these badges except myself.People at work now ask me things about SSSC badges and digital questions which I find amusing when I look back to were I was in October when I put the wrong link on my first blog.

As I enjoyed learning in this way I plan to go on and do more SSSC badges such as Mentoring for early learning and childcare services and Engaging with children and young people.This involves eBooks and apps which is something I knew nothing about at the beginning of my 23 things digital journey. 
I have promoted 23 things in my workplace to help others benefit from this type of learning.I still don't feel I could develop a 23 things resource for my organisation but you never know.

I have requested my evaluation survey from sssclearningtech@sssc.uk.com and once I receive this I will complete the 23 things survey as required. As the SSSC badges are very busy just now this can take up to two weeks for me to receive.

I began this badge by looking at  https://www.theguardian.com/social-care-network/2014/jul/10/social-care-social-media-digital-tools which is an old article from 2014.It looks at what is holding the sector back and states that " while social services may not have their own Twitter accounts, increasingly the people that lead them do". I  would agree that in 2014 our sector didn't have its own media presence but that has changed over the years,especially over the last few months.It probably was out of fear of data protection  and confidential issues but that has been overcome now with a more different concern. Thing 20:Collaboration

For Thing 20:Collaboration I was to contribute to a shared document, take part and set up a poll and then blog about my experience. Firstly I was to contribute to a shared document on either Padlet or Google Docs. The purpose of these documents is to build a bank of advice for future 23 Things participants.Firstly to get access to these documents I had to email sssclearningtech@sssc.uk.com to be sent a link. I sent a email for both Padlet and Google Docs and received the activation links within 1 hour. I began by going into Google Docs which was easy to navigate around and easy to put my comments on.I commented on 3 questions on this document. I then had a look at Padlet which I thought looked nicer than Google Docs but a little harder to put on my posts. I added a post but then realised I hadn't signed in so I signed in and then added another post. Then I played about with the document for a bit and was able to jazz up what I had written by making a bookmark from it.  Here is a li

Thing 21 -Digital Legacy These are the questions I have been asking myself whilst completing this badge. What will happen to all the information I have put online once I die ? Should I put someone in charge of this, either to keep things updated or delete? Who would this person be ? Who would I trust enough to give this person access to not only my social media accounts but my bank accounts ?
